Reid Architects is designing the first of a new brand of hotel for the British hospitality market. Global hotelier Melia is bringing the four star contemporary hotel brand - Innside - to the UK.
Reid is adapting the boutique brand Melia recently acquired in Germany to the UK market and integrating it into the wider Melia stable. The hotel is to form part of the First Street North masterplan overseen by Ian Simpson Architects.
Working in collaboration with Ian Simpson Reid is working closely with Melia and is providing full interior design and architecture.
The practice is also designing bespoke FF+E and cased goods, specifying and scheduling all FF+E and operating equipment to give Melia a turnkey hotel.
The 208 rooms are complemented by a 350 seat conference facility, a 140 cover full service restaurant, a wellness suite and gym.
The Client is Ask Developments and the hotel opens in 2014.
