Reid Architects were invited, as part of a limited competition, to provide proposals for a new office building.
The site is located on London Road, close to Piccadilly Station, and comprises an existing Grade II listed building and an adjacent gap site.
The form of the building is folded and sculpted to respect the existing building mass. An interlocking solid and glass L shape informs the concept, along with associated modelling to comply with current environmental specification.
The building is clad in copper to enable the shape and form to be unified. Glass and perforated copper louvres to the south façade protect the key elevation from the sun, providing a responsive envelope.
