Reid Architects was asked to undertake interior design work for the main entrance reception for Rothschild at 82 King Street, Manchester.
Rothschild, one of the leading organisations in the world’s financial market, briefed Reid to provide a contemporary re-design to their Manchester office reception that had exceptional presence.
The scope of works covered RIBA work stages from A-K and included spatial and operational analysis of the existing reception, the design of a layout that improved the existing operation and the production of construction and specification information for furniture, fixtures and fittings.
The reception space has been enhanced through the introduction of high quality stone flooring and timber paneling to the walls and a complementary lighting scheme that provides a sense of ‘arrival’ upon entry into the space. The rearrangement of the reception and the replacement of the existing door enables visual connection with the lift lobby, whilst maintaining a sense of openness, natural lighting and views onto King Street below.
Reid also designed the reception desk and designed settings for Rothschild’s etched glass artwork.
The cool, clean lines and high specification of materials and detailing have provided the client with a reception space befitting the high standards expected of a Rothschild office environment.
